Our Story and Why We Give Back
This land was originally set to go to auction, but the previous owner chose to give us a chance...a young couple eager to build a legacy and preserve a way of life that feels like it’s slipping away.
She didn’t have to.
But she did.
And it forever changed our lives.
As we stood on this property, overwhelmed by God’s provision, one thought kept coming to mind:
“God, all of this is Yours. We are simply stewards of it.
How can we glorify You through what You’ve given us?”
That’s where our Gives Back Initiative was born.
Our Heart
This is our act of worship. Giving back a portion of what is already His.
It is also our way of serving others and pointing people to the love and provision of God.
What This Looks Like
Each year, our first steer is given away:
Why We Do It
Does it seem crazy to give away thousands before making a profit?
Absolutely.
But we are not called to look like the world.
We are called to be bold in our faith and generous with what God has given us.
Because this ranch has always been His, and as long as He allows us to steward it, we will use it to glorify Him.

How Will it Work?
Anyone can nominate a family or person who they think is deserving and would benefit from this. We will choose one family from the applications sent in to receive a half share of beef, which is roughly 250-300 lbs of meat. We are also thrilled to be partnering with local businesses within our community who will provide a freezer for the family to store the meat in along with cover the processing costs. We will be donating the remaining half to local food pantries in our area.
As you consider nominating someone, we want to emphasize the importance of providing detailed information. Your nominations are our sole basis for reviewing and selecting recipients, so the more detail you provide, the better we can understand the nominee's situation and needs.

At Rainwater Ranch, we understand the importance of investing in the future of agriculture. As a first-generation cattle ranch, we are proud to announce the establishment of a $1500 scholarship to support the educational pursuits of high school seniors who are passionate about agriculture.

This scholarship is open to Alabama high school seniors who meet the following criteria:

- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a degree or career in agriculture.
- Planning to enroll in an accredited college, university, or vocational program with a focus on agriculture, animal science, agribusiness, or a related field.
Factors to Consider:
When applying for the Rainwater Ranch Gives Back Scholarship, applicants should consider the following factors:
- Passion for Agriculture: We are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for agriculture and a strong desire to contribute to the industry's future.
- Academic Achievement: While academic excellence is important, we also recognize the value of hands-on experience and dedication to the agricultural field.
- Leadership and Involvement: We value leadership skills and community involvement.
- Applicants who have demonstrated leadership abilities and actively participate in agricultural-related activities or organizations will be given preference.
- Future Goals: Applicants should articulate their future goals in the field of agriculture and how they plan to make a positive impact on the industry.
