I remember walking down the driveway to the ranch after we had just purchased it, taking in all the beauty of what god had given us, and praying to myself “Lord, how do we use 65 acres and a herd of cattle to bring you glory because God it's only because of you that we have even have this beautiful place”
…And it was in that moment that He placed this dream in my heart..I immediately shared it with Coltin and he was 100% on board.
Just like that the Rainwater Ranch Gives Back initiative was born.
We decided that every year, much like the practices within the Bible, we would donate our first steer to several deserving families and our community as a visual representation of our commitment to always use what the Lord has given us to serve Him and our community.
With hearts full of thankfulness for what He has given us, we want nothing more than to use it for His glory and kingdom. We know God has equipped us with this farm, not for our own personal gain, but to be His hands and feet through love and service to our community.

How Will it Work?
Anyone can nominate a family or person who they think is deserving and would benefit from this. We will choose two families from the applications sent in to receive a quarter share of beef, which is roughly 125 lbs of meat. We are also thrilled to be partnering with two businesses within our community who will provide a freezer for each family to store the meat.
As you consider nominating someone, we want to emphasize the importance of providing detailed information. Your nominations are our sole basis for reviewing and selecting recipients, so the more detail you provide, the better we can understand the nominee's situation and needs.

Rainwater Ranch Gives Back Scholarship
Who is Eligible:
This scholarship is open to Alabama high school seniors who meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a degree or career in agriculture.
- Planning to enroll in an accredited college, university, or vocational program with a focus on agriculture, animal science, agribusiness, or a related field.
Factors to Consider:
When applying for the Rainwater Ranch Gives Back Scholarship, applicants should consider the following factors:
- Passion for Agriculture: We are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for agriculture and a strong desire to contribute to the industry's future.
- Academic Achievement: While academic excellence is important, we also recognize the value of hands-on experience and dedication to the agricultural field.
- Leadership and Involvement: We value leadership skills and community involvement.
- Applicants who have demonstrated leadership abilities and actively participate in agricultural-related activities or organizations will be given preference.
- Future Goals: Applicants should articulate their future goals in the field of agriculture and how they plan to make a positive impact on the industry.
Application Process:
To apply for the Rainwater Ranch Gives Back Scholarship, eligible students must complete the scholarship application form and submit it along with any required documents to rainwaterranch.al@gmail.com by April 15, 2024. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, and the recipient will be notified accordingly.
